Capture Project:
Progress Report
(September 24,
2001)
During the third annual site-visit to Geneva running
July 30-September 7 the project focused its digital capture efforts on three
principal collections: Registry archive;
Director General files; and Photographic archive. The project assigned staff to separate work shifts running
between 8:00 am-10:30 pm Monday through Friday. The technology configuration for this session included nine
scanners: one planetary book scanner
(Bookeye); one high-speed document feed
scanner (Kodak 3500); six Fujitsu
"mid-range" document feed/flatbed scanners (two ScanPartner 15C's;
two 4097’s; two 3097’s); and one color scanner (HP ScanJet). During this time period 616025 pages images
were created and 541 photographs scanned.
Combined with previous year totals, the WTO digital library project has
now digitized 1,262,996 pages of text and 541 photographic images. The status report of the initial project
inventory is described in the following table.
